Workshop 2: GIFs as Gateways to Multimodal Composition: Thinking about Writing through Looping Image. Led by Jamie Henthorn (Catawba College), Matt Beale (Old Dominion University), and Megan Mize (Old Dominion University). Room 1100.

Workshop 3: Developing RAD Research Skills: An Empirical Study of Genre and Writing Transfer. Led by Carol Hayes (George Washington University), Joe Paszek (University of Detroit Mercy), and Gwen Gorzelsky (Colorado State University). Room 1106.
7:30pmSocial GatheringsDowntown Norfolk or On CampusSocial Event 1: Rooftop beer garden gathering at Grain (100 E. Main St., Downtown Norfolk, located at the top of the Hilton). This event is sponsored by Fountainhead and Bedford/Macmillan publishers. Attendees will receive two free drink tickets, and there will be a complimentary taco bar as well. Shuttles will be taking attendees from outside the SpringHill Suites (4500 Hampton Blvd) lobby to Grain at the following times: 7:15pm / 7:30pm / 7:45pm. The shuttles will take attendees back to the hotel at 9:30pm. For those who wish to drive on their own, there are plenty of parking garages downtown. Town Point Garage is close, as is the Main Street Garage. Attendees are welcome to stay at Grain past the 9:30pm shuttle pick-up (Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/old-dominions-regional-4cs-social-event-tickets-62141223071)

Social Event 2: Movie and Telescope Night at the Pretlow Planetarium (located on campus). The movie being played is Black Holes (odu.edu/life/culture/discovery/pretlow-planetarium/shows.html.html). Event starts at 7:30 with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (including sweet tea, lemonade, and hot chocolate). Movie starts at 8:00pm. Telescope use and directed stargazing will follow the movie at around 9:00pm (weather permitting). To register, email Dan Richards (dprichar@odu.edu) indicating your interest.
